We had a busy weekend of prep football coverage with three CIF championship games. Below is all three of our videos from every game. Starting with Calabasas winning its first CIF final behind a five-touchdown performance by Darnay Holmes to defeat Palos Verdes in the Western Division final.
Sierra Canyon also celebrated a CIF Mid-Valley title as its defense shut out San Dimas. The celebration afterwards was equally impressive.
Thousand Oaks had a great first half in its CIF Northern Division game at Camarillo but Camarillo proved too much in the second half. It was the 3rd finals appearance for Thousand Oaks in school history.
As a bonus we’ve shared the full video of Thousand Oaks’ coach Mike Leibin’s postgame speech, which reminds what high school sports is about. A team may lose in the final but it still reached the final, an amazing accomplishment. Accepting defeat is hard but every team should be proud of how they did this year.
